Beauty Buzz | Clicks Christmas

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had bigger things to think about this year than Christmas shopping! If, like me, you’ve left everything to the last minute, can’t stomach the thought of trawling the endless aisles in the shopping malls and have a tight budget to stick to, duck into a Clicks store now. Give yourself one hour and you’ll have all your shopping done! They really do have something for everyone – parents, partners, children, friends (even cheapies for people you don’t really like but are obliged to give a gift to). Take a look at my Clicks Christmas hit list with everything from cosmetics and edibles to appliances and kitchenware.

Body treats

Sorbet body

I do love Sorbet products – especially the Spa Escape and Balancing ranges. And the products are sooooo budget-friendly! Spa Escape Body Butter (R40), Hand & Nail Cream (R33) and Body Scrub (R45). Balancing Body Scrub (R40) and Hand & Nail Cream (R30).

Oral-B TriZone 500 Power Toothbrush and Professional Toothpaste (R575,95).

Oral-B TriZone 500 Toothbrush and Toothpaste (R575,95). This is a such a fantastic deal because this power brush is usually R600! The new Oral-B toothpastes are really amazing, too. Click on the image to read my reviews about them during my Oral-B trial.

Sorbet Spa Escape Into the Blue gift set (R300).

Sorbet Spa Escape Into the Blue gift set (R300) makes the most dreamy present for someone who needs a bit of pampering this season. It even comes with a R50 voucher to spend at Sorbet on a facial treatment or acrylic nails.

Summer skincare

Good Things Manuka & Honey Daily Moisturiser (R104,95), Creamy Cleanser (R69,95) and Refining Scrub (R69,95). There's also a Radiance Face Mask (R74,95).

On a budget? This sunshine yellow skincare range from Good Stuff comes in at R320 for all the products! And they smell amazing too. Good Things Manuka & Honey Daily Moisturiser (R104,95), Creamy Cleanser (R69,95) and Refining Scrub (R69,95). There’s also a Radiance Face Mask (R74,95) that’s not pictured.

Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Lifting Mask (R235), Cream Deluxe (R425) and Eye (R335).

If your end of year budget is looking good, give your skin an anti-ageing treat with the Nip + Fab Bee Sting range. Just under R1000 gets you the Fix Lifting Mask (R235), Cream Deluxe (R425) and Eye (R335). The key ingredient is bee venom which helps plump skin and smooth wrinkles. It has antioxidant-rich propolis, too.

Party-perfect hair

Tony & Guy Infusion Straightener and Schwarzkopf Gliss Million Gloss Hair Repair Shampoo and Conditioner.

Every girl needs a good quality hair straightener and this Tony & Guy Infusion Straightener (R549) is fantastic. I’m also loving the look (and silky hair feel) of the Schwarzkopf Gliss Million Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner (R69,95 each).

Christmas cosmetics

Red lips are a Christmas essential. Use L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Colour Duo in Resolution Red (R180) for lasting red lips and 2true Colour Drench or Matte Lipsticks (R39,95) if you’re after a pout on a budget. Palette of the season? NYX Love in Paris 9 Color Shadow Palette (R179,95). Love these soft-shades!

Get a pretty eye-catching mani with a Ciate Shell Mani set (R349,95). There are three colour combinations (pink, purple and pale). When you’re tired of it, whip it off with Sorbet Hydrate Nail Polish Remover (R40). You can also buy Sorbet polish in Clicks stores (R99,95 for two). And how pretty is that emery board?

Festive edibles

What would Christmas be without all things yummy (and full of sugar)? These delicious treats make the perfect stocking-fillers and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love a giant lolly made of marshmallow (R16,95)? The 3-pack of Candy Canes (R14,95) are ideal as Christmas tree decorations and the single Lindt Sticks (R10,95) are great for people like me who cannot put a bar (or a box) of chocolate away once it’s opened. Much easier on the hips! For a teatime treat, a tin of the Royal Dansk Chocolate & Raspberry Cookies (R39,95) is the perfect gift for granny. I also love the dinky mint tins with cutesy designs and sweet sayings.

Kitchen must-have

Russell Hobbs 1,5L Blender (R649).

Russell Hobbs 1,5L Blender (R649). My not-yet mother-in-law bought this for me as a house-warming gift when I bought my first home. I use it almost every day to make a smoothie to take to work or when I’m on the go with no time, or energy, for a ‘real’ meal.

Berry smoothie.

It makes the most delicious smoothies (okay, I will take a lot of the credit for the flavour combinations). This one has Greek yoghurt, berries, honey, ice and a touch of lemon juice. It crushes ice like a pro, blends beautifully and is easy-as-pie to clean.
