Holiday Hair & Body

Holiday Hair & Body

Taking care of your hair and body while on holiday is not something you want to skimp on, or you’ll actually end up having to spend even more time getting yourself ready for the outside world, instead of soaking up the sun or seeing the sights.

Oi! ‘Twas a windy day in Corfu, Greece! Could totally have used some more Batiste here. Woops!

Take a few minutes out of your day once a week to treat your hair to a nourishing mask to keep it soft and cared for, and minimise the risk of damage and resulting frizz, which will ruin any holiday vibe in an instant. And keep a can of dry shampoo close by to freshen up your hair in between washes, because the last thing you want to be doing on vacation is washing your hair every day!

A good body cream and tissue oil are also essential to keep your skin soft and prevent those legs from getting dry and flaky, especially if you’re going to be in the sun a lot. And you never know when you’ll need some good old vitamin E to prevent scarring on scratches, burns and bites.

Here are some of my must-haves for hair and body holiday happiness!

Hair & Body Beauties

Rapidlash (R750 review) Even on holiday I’m religious about applying my favourite lash beauty to keep my lashes longer than nature intended.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush (R69,99 review) I don’t travel anywhere without this, not even to work, and if you prefer to pack lighter than I do there is a dinky handbag size available too.

L’Oréal Professional Inoa ColorCare Protective Conditioning Masque (R245) is a beautiful, conditioning mask that helps to protect coloured hair and keep it vibrant, and also nourish dry hair (which is often a side-effect of frequent colouring).

I spotted this Kiehls store in Dubai airport, while back home the first SA store was opening up!

Mavala Mava+ Extreme Care for Hands (R215) was a lifesaver to keep my hands from drying out in between frequent hand washing and hand sanitizers.

♥ Kiehls Creme de Corps (R210) When you’re out in the heat and sun everyday your skin tends to get a little dry and this gorgeous cream was a welcome treat at the end of every day to prevent dry limbs.

Bio-Oil (R74,99) is a true miracle-worker and I used it two or three times a day on my inner arm to try minimise the after effects of a little accident with a hot water bottle before I left. Three weeks later and the scar is seriously reduced, thank goodness!
