The third and fourth weeks of my Pantene Shine Strong Challenge were spent cruising from Cape Town to Venice, so my access to my usual supply of lotions and potions was severely limited. However, I was surprised by how easy it was to get by on the basics as my hair was in such good condition after only two weeks of the challenge. Check out Week 1’s post to learn more about the new formula and read the results from Week 2 to find out which Pantene range is best for your hair.
For the duration of my trip, I had to get by on two 50ml travel-friendly bottles, which I used to decant my Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo and Moisture Renewal Conditioner into, a tiny jar of hair smoothing cream, a comb and a flat iron (which I use with serious caution and very infrequently).
My favourite hair dryer was left at home and I was really dreading the idea of drying my longer-than-ever hair using the odd wall unit in our small cabin. To my surprise, however, I found that my hair was already in such good condition after just two weeks of using these new products that blow-drying was fairly easy.
That made all the difference because the last thing you want to spend too much time doing while on holiday is perfecting your hair. You want the results but not the effort!
One thing I really did miss on my trip was what has to be my favourite Pantene product – Moisture Renewal 2 min Intensive Moisturising Masque (R66,99 read my review). I did consider trying to decant some of this into yet another container but, by the time I had finished with the basics, my toiletries had taken up 1/3 of my luggage and there simply wasn’t room for such luxuries. So I settled for coating my hair in it the minute I got home.
Pantene’s Pro Tip
For dry hair in need of a bit of hydration and shine, try a weekly application of this hair hero.
Apply it to damp or towel-squeezed hair for just two minutes while you wash, apply a body scrub or brush your teeth, then rinse to reveal silky soft hair.
For an even bigger boost of moisture, apply the mask, cover your hair with clingfilm and wrap it all up in a towel. Catch up on some TV or read a book for half an hour before rinsing.
Get it at selected pharmacies and retailers
