It’s no secret that I adore SkinCeuticals and if you rifle through my burgeoning cosmetics bag, you’re sure to find at least one serum and one of my two favourite sunscreens there. Having used their Hydrating B5 before, I was super excited at the launch of the new H.A. Intensifier and couldn’t wait to test drive it.
Up there with the likes of essential skin power players like retinol, vitamin C, ceramides and peptides, hyaluronic acid is vital to all-round skin health. This smart little molecule is pretty much a glorified skincare sponge and can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. It helps to draw moisture into the skin, which has a multitude of skincare benefits including:
♥ increased hydration ♥ better plumpness ♥ boosted elasticity
♥ less visible fine lines and wrinkles ♥ improved skin barrier ♥ reduction in inflammation
If your skin is a building made of a framework (elastin) and bricks (collagen), the cement that holds it all together is hyaluronic acid. Pretty important right?
Of course, like most things in life, hyaluronic acid levels tend to decrease over time and without replenishing them and supporting our own naturally occurring hyaluronic acid, we can’t really be surprised when our skin starts to get increasingly drier, duller, rougher and wrinklier with age. That’s where the new SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier (R1550 for 30ml) comes in.
A combination of clever skincare ingredients and naturally-derived extracts which work together to boost hydration levels and improve the appearance of firmness, smoothness and overall plumpness.
♥ 10% Proxylane to support natural hyaluronic acid levels, which improves appearance of firmness
♥ 2% Licorice Root Extract and 0.2% Purple Rice Extract working together to help preserve skin’s HA
♥ 1.3% Hyaluronic Acid to provide long lasting hydration for improvement of skin texture
How to Draw a small amount up using the pipette, and apply 4 to 6 drops of the serum onto the back of your hand (or into your palm). Use your finger tips to dab the product onto your forehead, cheeks, chin and neck, concentrating on spots of concern such as crow’s feet, frown lines, nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

Tip Combined in your skincare routine with an antioxidant serum such as Phloretin CF or CE Ferulic, and a sunscreen like Ultra Facial Defense SPF50+ (read my review), you’ve got a real powerhouse of skincare products to help prevent, correct and protect your skin daily.
