Sorbet Nail Collection

Sorbet Nail Collection

I recently attended the launch of the exciting Sorbet Nail Collection and was blown away by the amazing array of nail polish types and gorgeous colours. There really is something for everyone, and at a bargain price too!

The Sorbet Nail Collection has just landed in Sorbet salons and Clicks stores, and if you hurry you can your hands on some really cool deals (read on to get the scoop).

There are three lines in the new Sorbet Nail Collection:

Sorbet Glam Effect (R90 each) featuring 12 shades of glitters, chromes and metallics.

Sorbet Long Wear (R90 each) featuring 54 shades and claiming up to 6-day wear.

Sorbet Pro Gel Effect (R110 each) featuring 42 shades of gel polish without the need for a lamp.

In case you need help counting, that’s 108 fabulous new shades for you to play with! You can also choose between the standard 15ml bottle and a dinky little 5ml. This is perfect for travel, on-the-go touch-ups and testing colours before you buy a bigger size. Not to mention there are also various limited edition collections for those of you who love to feel inspired by seasons, trends and new colour palettes. Currently, you can get your hands on these two:

Soft Serve Chic Collection (R30 each) in 5ml bottles only featuring 10 shades like Psst-achio, Hey The Delilac and Sugar High.

Tropic Splash Collection (R30 each) in 5ml bottles only featuring 10 shades like Fun Set Cruise, Hot Moss and Pinkcocolada.

Nails of the Day

Myself and one of my dearest friends attended the event, which took place at the Inner City Ideas Kartel Rooftop Bar in Cape Town. With all the amazing new shades from the three collections on offer (plus the limited editions showing off) it was a tough call to choose a shade. Eventually, I settled on Sorbet Pro Gel Effect in Totally Plummed. It was applied in two coats before topping it off with the Sorbet Pro Gel Effect Top Coat (R110).

The results

Sadly my manicure didn’t last very well. To be fair it was applied very quickly as each guest was dying to get her nails done. I’ll be interested to see its staying power if applied correctly. Let’s be honest, it’s never going to be a salon professional gel polish, but it isn’t trying to be one. It simply offers an alternative for those who want some of the effect and benefits of gel without the hassle of curing or soak offs.

My friend Kimi opted for a bright and punchy coral shade for her manicure. I think it was Watermelon Martini or Petal for Your Thought, topped off with a line of silver glitter polish along the tips of the nails. How pretty!? She was off to a wedding that weekend where the theme was ‘Fabulously Formal’, and these nails were the perfect accessory.

I was also able to take home three other shades to test drive the Long Wear and Glam Effect collections, as well as a cute little mini from the new Soft Serve Chic Collection.
