A little while ago I popped into Dream Nails in Cavendish Square, Claremont to get my hands on a shade or two of the beautiful new nail colours from their NSI Polish Pro Spring Collection. With the flowers in full bloom and the weather looking divine, these pretty pops of vibrant pastels are the ideal shades for the season.

Dream Pedicure (R240) because I find it very hard to leave a salon without one
If you’re a little indecisive like I am, walking into a salon and being met by a wall of colour such as this one can be very overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, variety is amazing but I would suggest having a general idea of what you’re looking for before you arrive. If you’re after a specific shade, rather phone ahead to make sure they have the one you want, rather than being disappointed on the day and having to change your game plan at the last minute. Nail colours are serious things, after all!
Luckily for me, on this occasion, I knew I only had six stunning shades to choose from, which made my decision a lot easier… until I fell in love with both Spring Showers and Budding Meadow. In the end, I just couldn’t decide so I went with Blossoming Tulips instead for a pretty pink touch.
After prepping my nails by filing and shaping, pushing back the cuticles and cleaning the nail bed, my nail technician Lorraine applied NSI Bond Enhancer followed by NSI Polish Pro Base Coat Plus to provide the perfect surface on which to apply my pink colour. In between each layer (I had three in total to provide a really solid colour) my nails were cured under a UV lamp.
I decided to add a touch of sparkle to my ring fingers using NSI Polish Pro in Road Trip before the final NSI Polish Pro Top Coat was added to seal the deal and leave my nails with a high gloss finish. My dear friend and partner in beauty crime, Emmy from Rouge Beauty, chose Budding Meadows and it looked fabulous on her skin. I definitely need to visit again to try it out.
I always feel like a salon experience isn’t quite complete without a delightful pedicure, so I really enjoyed being treated to one by therapist Charity. It began with a warm, bubbly soak in a spa bath using Dream Nails Sassy Soak Melon & Papaya followed by a foot scrub of Sassy Scrub Strawberry, which has a really delicious scent. After smoothing my heels and shaping my nails, Charity almost put me to sleep with the most heavenly foot massage using Sassy Moisturiser Pear & Apple, which made me realise just how tired and overworked my poor soles actually were.
I contemplated showing off something blue on my toes with Spring Showers, but I’ve always been a sucker for bright red toenails. There is something so classic and elegant about them, so I chose a bright, bold red shade to finish off my pedicure, which Charity painted beautifully. It’s Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer in Pretty Woman (R123) and it certainly made me feel very pretty.
The Result I walked out of the salon feeling super pampered. Lovely nails always make me feel happier and more confident and I was quite surprised by how long the Polish Pro manicure lasted. The claim is about 7-10 days, and mine surpassed that to about 12 before I had to remove it from a few chips.
